In the cozy Wirtschaft, dishes are lovingly and carefully prepared for you. We cook almost exclusively with regional and seasonal products. Down-to-earth dishes are prepared in a sophisticated way, preferably inspired by exquisite French cuisine. The legendary fish specialties are also given a new lease of life at the Wirtschaft Grafenort. Or indulge in the exquisite cuts of meat smoked by the host himself in the smoker and the seasonal specialties.
From Wednesday to Sunday we offer a daily changing lunch menu.
Focus on regional products
He wanted to learn from the best. And so host Thomas Matter bases his menus on culinary delights. The focus is on products from the region. The meat comes from animals from the surrounding farms in Grafenort, and the fish comes from the nearby mountain lake. As people still know each other personally here in the Engelberg Valley, the host knows exactly what is being served. The guests can really look forward to it.

Wine list
We fully subscribe to Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s dictum: Life really is far too short to drink bad wine. Our wine list contains a wide selection of fine wines from Switzerland as well as from well-known wine regions in our neighboring countries.
In addition to the wonderful wines from the Engelberg monastery, you will find numerous top producers such as the Graubünden flagship wineries Donatsch, Studach and Gantenbein in collaboration with our wine supplier Martel. Or the Burgundy icons from Domaines Roumier, Leflaive and Fourrier. There are also gems from Bordeaux. True to Goethe’s motto.
Playroom
Children are very welcome here. We have set up a playroom in the Wirtschaft Grafenort especially for our younger guests. Of course, we also spoil them with culinary delights. See for yourself – just take a look at the children’s menu.
