Regionality is a matter close to our hearts!
Switzerland is characterized by its regional diversity. This is also reflected in its cuisine. From meat and fish to cheese and vegetables to honey and eggs: the range of products on offer in the Engelberg Valley is immeasurable. Our establishments prove this day after day. Most of the food processed in the Monastery Guest Facilities comes from the region. And because we still know each other personally here, we know exactly which products come from which producers.
The products from the monastery itself are a particular treasure: Fresh bread and crispy rolls from the monastery’s own bakery, aromatic vegetables from the monastery garden as well as fine cheese and delicious cheese fondue or raclette from the “Chäs im Kloster” store.
The best from the kitchen

A good wine is a must
A nice glass of wine goes with a good meal! Enjoy the wines from the monastery’s own vineyard. In 2017, the Benedictine monastery of Engelberg succeeded in buying back part of the former vineyard in a prime location on Lake Biel after almost 600 years. Since then, it has been able to serve its guests an expressive, mineral white wine. Connoisseurs appreciate its characteristic taste, which is accompanied by fruity freshness and a full-bodied aroma. The red wine produced by the monastery winegrower is expressive and brings out the elegant Pinot Noir aromas perfectly.
In addition to the monastery’s own wines, the wine list includes a fine selection of Swiss and international wines.
