At noon and in the evening our chefs create refined and seasonal lunch and dinner menus. Traditional Swiss cuisine is given a touch of international flair. For the three-course menus, which change daily, products from the region are used for the most part and promise first-class culinary delights. Lovers of vegetarian or vegan dishes are very welcome.
A good meal goes hand in hand with a good glass of wine! Of course, in addition to the selection of Swiss and international wines, the monastery’s own wine should not be missing. In 2017, the Benedictine monastery of Engelberg was able to reacquire part of the former winery in a prime location on Lake Biel after almost 600 years. Since then, the monastery has been able to serve its guests an expressive and mineral white wine. Connoisseurs appreciate its characteristic taste, which is accompanied by a fruity freshness and graceful aroma.
Every region has its own charm. The Engelberg Valley has a variety of stories, traditions and especially culinary offerings. From meat and fish, cheese to vegetables, honey and eggs, the offer in our region offers an incredible amount. We take this into account in our operations. The foodstuffs refined in the kitchen come for the most part from the region and reach the storage rooms by the shortest routes. And because people still know each other here, we know very well what is served on the plate.
