Hospitality is a concern for us. Already when he lived in Subiaco, our Order’s founder Benedict received visitors and thus founded Benedictine hospitality.
Hosting guests has enjoyed an ongoing tradition at Engelberg Monastery since the monastery was founded in 1120. We are happy to offer our hospitality to individuals and couples seeking time out.
You will stay in the public part of the monastery in former monks’ cells. The rooms are spacious and functionally furnished. There are 17 rooms (24 beds, 7 double rooms, 10 single rooms) available. There is a lot to discover in the monastery. One of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in Switzerland invites to easy to challenging hikes, depending on the season.
